ARSB Representatives Meet Inspector General of Prisons to Discuss Repatriation of Indian Nationals
The ARSB delegation included Rtn. Md. Shamsul Huda (S21HD), Organizing Secretary of the Amateur Radio Society Bangladesh, and Md. Nazrul Islam, Vice President of ARSB.
During the visit, they met Brigadier General Syed Md. Motaher Hossain, Inspector General of Prisons (IG Prisons), Bangladesh, and discussed humanitarian and administrative issues connected with the repatriation of eligible foreign nationals.
Discussion on Timely Repatriation
During the meeting, Mr. Huda drew attention to the circumstances of Indian nationals who had already completed their respective sentences but were still awaiting completion of the procedures necessary for their return home.
He emphasized the humanitarian importance of accelerating the relevant administrative and repatriation processes so that eligible individuals can return to their families without unnecessary delay.
Inspector General Briefed on the Situation
The Inspector General of Prisons was briefed on the matters raised by the ARSB representatives and took note of the issues discussed during the meeting.
He expressed his intention to facilitate the matter through the appropriate administrative channels and to support efforts aimed at making the process more efficient.
Improving the Process for Foreign Prisoners
The meeting also included a broader discussion on how procedures relating to the release and repatriation of foreign nationals could be simplified and better coordinated.
The participants discussed the importance of effective cooperation among the relevant government authorities, diplomatic missions and other stakeholders in minimizing avoidable delays.

Following the discussion with the Inspector General of Prisons, the ARSB delegation also paid a courtesy visit to the Assistant Inspector General of Prisons.
