Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) hosted the 2025 Amateur Radio exam on May 9, 2025, marking a significant milestone in the country’s amateur radio community.

This year’s exam witnessed an unprecedented turnout, with more than 900 candidates participating. This remarkable figure represents the highest number of participants ever recorded for an amateur radio exam in Bangladesh’s history. This surge in interest reflects a growing enthusiasm and recognition of amateur radio as a valuable hobby and communication tool.

Bangladesh Vespa Community (BVC) stands as one of the most prominent and beloved motorcycle groups in Bangladesh. Known for their passion for Vespa scooters, the members of BVC are not only united by their love for riding but also by their commitment to community service and humanitarian efforts.this year, a significant number of BVC members have decided to expand their horizons by participating in the amateur radio exam. This move reflects their dedication to enhancing communication skills and contributing to emergency response capabilities.

The leading organization in the field, Amateur Radio Society Bangladesh (ARSB), played a pivotal role in preparing candidates for this exam. The ARSB organized various activities to support aspiring operators, including a Free Seminar, Experience sharing, Online & offline Training, Antenna workshop, Basic Electronics guideline. Field day, Unity camp with HF communication etc.

These initiatives have significantly contributed to the record number of participants, showcasing the dedication of ARSB to nurturing the next generation of amateur radio operators. (ARSB) has been instrumental in fostering the amateur radio community by hosting a variety of events since 2018 & ARSB is a govt. registered organization in Bangladesh.

Special thanks to the BTRC for organizing the exam this year. Their efforts have not only facilitated a historic turnout but have also strengthened the amateur radio community in Bangladesh. The success of this year’s exam serves as an inspiration for future endeavors in the realm of amateur radio.

The 2025 Amateur Radio exam stands as a testament to the vibrant and growing interest in amateur radio in Bangladesh, paving the way for continued engagement and development in the field.
