A first for Rangpur Rover Scouts

This year’s JOTA-JOTI gave participating Rangpur District Rover Scouts their first opportunity to communicate by amateur radio during the event, with support from a licensed operator.

Closing Ceremony

Professor Dr. Arefina Begum, Leader Trainer, Bangladesh Scouts, attended the closing ceremony as Chief Scout Personality, and Mahadev Kumar Gun, Treasurer, Bangladesh Scouts, Rangpur District Rover, attended as Special Scout Personality. Md. Ashiqur Rahman, Syed Mahbubar Rahman Sohel and Abu Sayeed Ahmed were also present.

Friendship Across the Airwaves

JOTA-JOTI is the world’s largest annual scouting event, in which Scouts around the globe connect through amateur radio and the internet to build friendship, cooperation, cultural exchange and technical skills.

The Rangpur programme showed how amateur radio can open the door to communication technology for young people while encouraging teamwork and responsible operating. ARSB hopes the experience inspires participants to explore amateur radio further and to develop skills that serve their communities, including in emergencies.
